Review: Alfama Restaurant
I had the pleasure of visiting Alfama since it’s move to the new location on 52nd st. First and foremost the food continues to be amazing. The wonderful breads baked on
premises along with the freshly made desserts gild the lily on a memorable evening. The expansive Portuguese wine list is unmatched on both sides of the Atlantic. The new digs are spacious and visually stunning. The Fado Taverna downstairs offers an intimate setting to hear the music. The sound is outstanding and the fado can be heard in all its acoustic brilliance. We also had the pleasure of hearing co-owner Tarcisio Costa singing a fado song and I dare say he missed his calling. Owners Miguel and Tarcisio, along with Denise are hands on and wonderful hosts.
